Peter Salmon

Pete met Jolly Joe Marns when working at UKAEA (then, AERE Harwell) between 1982 to 1985 and joined the side in (possibly?) 1984. He felt very under qualified as it seemed that every other dancer had at least a PhD. Pete played the violin (very badly - his words) to avoid dancing, and sang a lot of dubious folk songs in the pub afterwards so he wouldn't have to buy a drink (his words).

Pete left Oxfordshire in July 1989 to work in the City having carefully avoided holding any office in the side. He later danced with another Ring side (Spring Grove Morris) whilst working at Kingston University in Surrey and met up with The Side (ours) at the Exeter Ring meeting in 1998. There he wore Tudor clothing to honour Will Kemps 'Nine Daies Wonder' of 1600. Following a stint as a university employee, he now works for Ipswich Borough Council and is hoping to join a local side soon.
