Sem '2 Fantinis' Seaborne

Sem is committed to the quality of Fantini accordions and has two of the instruments made by Leandro Fantini in Castelfidardo, Italy.

For morris, Sem has a Fantini Studio SP1, now 15 years old, battle scarred and still going strong. This is a standard 3 voice instrument with normal vibrato and 72 bass notes.

For other dances, sessions, concerts and ceilidhs he has a Fantini SP20GB Professional. This has 96 bass buttons with 3 couplers and 4 treble reeds, custom tuned by Emelio Allodi of Allodi Accordions. The 4th (or musette) reed has been tuned in unison with the dominant clarinet reed to produce a harder, drier more metallic sound. The instrument is fitted with the Sennheiser sound system for amplification.
