Grand Concert
Icknield Way Morris Men with Spires and Boden

Uffington - Sunday, March 7th 2010

Spires and Boden - Ready when you are

At a Spiers and Boden concert organized to raise money for the village school IWMM provided the interval entertainment. With the Squire away skiing Sem was in charge and had an attack of the footie managers, he had not only written down the starting lineup but also pre-planned substitutions and had decided on the formations, mostly 2-2-2-1 but packing the pitch for the last five minutes with a 2-2-2-2-4.

Spires and Boden - Adderbury for eight dancers

The Thomas Hughes Hall was full to the rafters with people standing at the back because seating had been sacrificed in order to give the Side somewhere to dance. It was an excellent performance from the two Js – interesting song arrangements mixed in with stomping tunes. The Side gave a solid performance in the interval despite the space being rather tight – the heys needed a bit of “after you Claude” to get past each other. A good night out which hopefully did the school funds a lot of good.
