Over
the weekend of 19th May some 16 men from IWMM
visited the West Somerset region enjoying excellent
weather and local hospitality in a tour organised
by one of their old boys, Terry Chivers.
The tour started
in the wonderfully scenic village of Dunster under
the watchful gaze of the great castle. We
then moved on to the centre of the Exmoor Park
at Exford, which was followed by dancing by the
quay in the picturesque village of Lynmouth.
A splendid lunch
was provided at the local hotel and we moved on
to dance at Porlock and Porlock Weir where we
were joined by members of the local team West
Somerset MM. Tea was taken at the Castle
Hotel.
The evening's feast
was provided at the Britannia Inn, Alcombe and
was followed by much singing, music and merriment.
On Sunday we entertained
the crowds at Minehead with dancing on the prom
for an hour followed by a good session at the
Old Ship Aground where some members of the Minehead
Sailor's Hoss were in evidence.
An excellent time
was had by all in glorious weather. Well done
Terry!!
